Meet Default RED
Consider this article as the launch of Default RED, however, we are not completely new to the industry. Some of you may remember our operations by a former name, Hackberry, which I launched with the vision of creating an open-source community to address the dynamic challenges in cybersecurity. While Hackberry struggled a lot, I am excited to share how Default RED is taking a fresh approach to making a significant impact.
When I started Hackberry back in May 2020, my goal was clear: foster a collaborative environment where hackers, experts and, cybersecurity enthusiasts, could come together to create innovative solutions, tackle vulnerabilities, and defend against cyber threats. However, as much as I believed in the power of community, I failed to build one. Despite the dedication of a few, we struggled with a lack of broader engagement, limited resources, a lack of goals, and other obstacles that prevented us from achieving the level of success we aspired to.
In response to these challenges, I've decided to change a few things. Hackberry as a company, has been renamed to Default RED. The branding now serves as an experimental Operating System. For now, it is under development so I can't tell you much about it. As for Default RED, instead of focusing solely on building a community, we are channeling our efforts into creating cybersecurity products and conducting vulnerability research.
Stay tuned for updates on our latest projects and breakthroughs, and thank you for being a part of this journey.
